Christine E Lee, MD

Christine E. Lee, M.D. is a board-certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery.  She has practiced ophthalmology in the Durham-Chapel Hill area since 1994.

Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree with honors and her medical degree from the University of Michigan.  She completed her internship at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and her residency at the University of Virginia, Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Lee is also a National Institutes of Health and Howard Hughes Medical Institute research scholar and an active member of the following societies:  American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the Korean American Society of Physicians and Dentists.

Dr. Lee was featured in the US News and World Report’s July 23, 2007 issue regarding cataract and LASIK surgeries. Dr. Lee has been named a Top Ophthalmologist for many years by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. Lee is also a recipient of the “Laser Vision Gold Surgeon” award, which recognizes leading refractive surgeons for providing exceptional patient care and achieving LASIK excellence.
